Vacation Overview

Iceland is a country known for its natural wonders: glaciers, active volcanoes, black-sand beaches, geothermal areas, roaring rivers, majestic waterfalls, and beautiful lakes. On this Iceland tour, you will start and end in Reykjavík, and you’ll witness these natural wonders while enjoying fun and unique experiences.

Scenic highlights include mighty Gullfoss waterfall and Goðafoss, known as the “Waterfall of the Gods.” Take pictures at Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe (road conditions permitting). Drive by Eyjafjallajökull volcano, well known for the eruption that generated the massive ash cloud in 2010, and through the national park at Skaftafell to Vik. Enjoy a scenic drive to the lovely blue Lake Mývatn. In one of Iceland’s prettiest areas and with volcanic craters throughout the lake, it is teeming with bird life and is known for its geothermal activity. Also watch how Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull, flows into Lake Jökulsárlón, forming icebergs.

We have also included some out-of-the-ordinary experiences to make your Iceland vacation special. In Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, walk through the rift valley that marks the separation between the North American and European tectonic plates. In Geysir, walk with the chef of the Geysir restaurant through the geothermal areas, where you’ll taste freshly baked bread cooked using the heat from the hot springs. You’ll wash it down with a glass of geysir schnapps. Another unique and unforgettable experience we offer is a boat cruise to see whales in their natural habitat!

These are just some of the many highlights of this Iceland tour. Be sure to bring your camera so you can to capture the stunning scenery and fun experiences on this wonderful vacation.

CITY: Reykjavik

Excursion to The Blue Lagoon The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most popular attractions, a natural geothermal pool in the middle of a large and dramatic lava field and an oasis that owes its existence to a nearby geothermal power plant, looming large over the aqua tinted waters. We stop for a refreshing bathe or a swim in the inviting, rejuvenating and pleasantly warm mineral-rich water (37°C-39°C/98-102°F), reputed for its healing properties. An indoor pool and geothermal sauna are also on the site. Bathing in this surreal environment is a unique experience no one should miss. The Blue Lagoon’s warm water and natural active ingredients like mineral salts, silica and blue green algae help you relax and escape the stress and strain of daily life.
