S.M.A.R.T. Travel Tips

S-SAFETY         Passport Safety

More than 300,000 US Passports are lost/stolen each year!

When traveling, plain-clothes officers may ask to see your Passport. See if others are being checked and if the officer has a badge/patch clearly visible – although just having a badge does not mean the person is legitimate.

To be sure, ask that the officer step inside the nearest hotel lobby/police station. You can ask a clerk in the lobby who speaks the native language and English.

If you are traveling alone, especially a woman, do not accompany the officer in a vehicle. Take separate cabs if transportation is needed and alert someone that you are leaving.

If you have a tour guide, contact the tour guide right away.

M-M&M’s How to save MONEY on flights.

I just attended a class on the most up-to-date information on the best way to find cheap flights. The best way is to be Flexible in dates, destination, and departure city. Sometimes deals are “mistake” fares like a currency conversion error or an IT error. These are withdrawn as soon as the airline discovers them but if you can book them and pay for them before they are removed, the airline will often honor the price. If you have specific dates and a destination, this method won’t work.

What kind of chocolate do they sell in an airport?
